Ahhh.....Basement Follies are.....L@@K! Nine Pound Hammer On The Fly!!!! Go #MarkStonecipher you banjo freak that plays very impolite guitar as well!!! ;-)
#MarkStonecipher is a string freak....That's all I'm sayin'. Listen to what he did to what was supposed to be basement crappola. ;-) #NinePoundHammer
Here's a song like no other I've ever written! Don't ya just hate when somebody is capable of bringing the meanness out in you?! Well....I've met one! Merry Christmas unnamed person! Enjoy this tune while I go have a lil talk with Jesus bout this here situation! :-)
Welcome to the inside of my brain for the last 72 hours. Mark & I took the kids to see the new movie #Mockingjay Part1 and had a great time! ......except for the whole audio/visual "issue" I've dealt with ever since in regards to "that song"...you know the one....#TheHangingTree ....I recorded it in hopes it would shut up. 8-)
Mark Stonecipher & I wrote a REALLY cool (I think) bluegrass song this week...and we hope y'all like it too! This is the basement version, so it's muddy....but please let us know what you think! And AS ALWAYS, feel free to share!
* Contact us for recording rights. <3
Soooo......Misty sent me this text message the other day....I didn't figure she'd mind if I shared it...I mean...she gave credit to #MeghanTrainor .....AND stayed logged in to her website editor....right? LOL!!!
The kids were all busy or not home last night, so Mark and I spent some MUCH needed time in the basement! We were planning on just practicing our stuff, and I broke into this song (House Of Gold) to warm us up, and we liked it so we thought we'd share it as a #BasementFollie!
The thing about our Basement Follie's is they are NEVER perfect! We don't spend a lot of time on them, and many times it's the first time we've played the song together! We like to share them so that folks who might be learning still, will know that it's okay to just have fun....even if that means a whopper of a flub from time to time! Also, it gives folks an insight into our music and creativity that they may not generally hear from other artists. Be sure and like our Facebook page for the latest!
So here you go! HOUSE OF GOLD....See if you can hear little Marleigh sneaking in on us. The mic picked up her peeing in our basement bathroom at the end! Haha! Everybody needs a 6 year old recording engineer! God Bless!
The VERY first band I was ever in was a country gospel/southern gospel band....but the first REAL country band I was ever in was called SIX SHOOTER and we were the dankity dank in Bloomington forever! (In our own minds for about 6 months ;-) way back in 1998!!! Holy cow! Anyway, Brian Lady was the lead singer, I played keyboards. Kevin played bass,(sorry I can't remember everyone's full names)....Scott (?) was the lead guitarist's name....and Brad Freeman was the drummer. I was 20! Happy Throwback Thursday everybody!
We've been pickin' and playin' quite a bit lately! Even if just messin' around! This was one of those times. Hope you like! Please be sure and catch us next Saturday morning at the Bloomington Farmers Market on the circle stage! Check the schedule for details. Love you guys! Please share! Every little share counts! <3
There are times in our lives where all that it seems we have left is our faith. This song came from a time like that in my life. I hope to record it professionally, but for now it's a #BasementFollie !!! Hope you enjoy! Have a blessed day!
Occasionally my honey and I catch some alone time despite workin' and raisin' a family. Our favorite thing to do is pick of course! We go to the basement, hit record, and see what happens! Last night's fun included this oldie but goody, and we had a blast! We may have to make a new record and call it The Basement Follies or Funnies.....something like that! You'll see what I mean right at the beginning. I REALLY dig making fun of myself, so I do it A LOT! Hope you like our basement version of IN THE PINES.....Sing it again Bill!
